Spotlight on Dennis Maher
For the Albright-Knox’s 2012–2013 Artist-in-Residence program, architect and artist Dennis Maher invited eight tradespeople who work in distinct home construction industries—plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, window and door restoration, weatherization, roofing, and flooring—to create house models using only the tools of their trades. Maher incorporated the eight resulting sculptures into his installation House of Collective Repair, which opened Saturday and is on view through May 12, 2013.
We’ll be taking a closer look at the eight house models in the coming weeks.
